SRC-SEW H.B. 2587 77(R) BILL ANALYSIS Senate Research Center H.B. 2587 77R3088 MI-DBy: Counts (Haywood) Intergovernmental Relations 5/8/2001 Engrossed DIGEST AND PURPOSE Current law provides zoning regulations for approximately 90 percent of the land surrounding lake Alan Henry, but excludes a small section in Kent County. Expanding the zoning to include that portion of land will give the Kent County commissioners the authority to enact zoning regulations consistent with the other 90 percent of land surrounding Lake Alan Henry. H.B. 2587 expands the zoning authority of the Kent County commissioners. RULEMAKING AUTHORITY This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency. SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS SECTION 1. Amends Section 231.132(a), Local Government Code, to provide that this subchapter applies to those parts of Kent County located within one mile of the high water marks established for Lake Alan Henry. Makes nonsubstantive changes. SECTION 2. Effective date: September 1, 2001.
