The Nixon Hospital District now wishes to also contract with the DeWitt Medical District. H.B. 3687 authorizes the Nixon Hospital District to contract with the DeWitt Medical District for the DeWitt Medical District to lease, manage, or operate a health care facility in the Nixon Hospital District. RULEMAKING AUTHORITY This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency. SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS SECTION 1. Amends Section 3, Chapter 644, Acts of the 59th Legislature, Regular Session, 1965, by adding Subsection (c) to authorize the Nixon Hospital District of Gonzales and Wilson counties to contract with the DeWitt Medical District for the DeWitt Medical District to lease, manage, or operate a health care facility located in the Nixon Hospital District of Gonzales and Wilson counties. SECTION 2. Amends Section 7, Chapter 310, Acts of the 59th Legislature, Regular Session, 1965, to authorize the DeWitt Medical District, through its board of directors, to contract with the Nixon Hospital District of Gonzales and Wilson counties, Texas, for the DeWitt Medical District to lease, manage, or operate a health care facility located in the Nixon Hospital District of Gonzales and Wilson counties, Texas. Makes a nonsubstantive change. SECTION 3. Effective date: upon passage or September 1, 2001.
