SRC-JBJ H.B. 3694 77(R) BILL ANALYSIS Senate Research Center H.B. 3694 77R3671 YDB-DBy: Solis, Jim (Lucio) Jurisprudence 5/10/2001 Engrossed DIGEST AND PURPOSE Under current Texas law, the administrative district judge of Cameron County is not authorized to be paid any additional amount for fulfilling duties as an administrative judge, such as for a car allowance or for the reimbursement of expenses. H.B. 3694 authorizes the Cameron County Commissioners Court to approve a supplemental salary to be paid to the administrative district judge of Cameron County. RULEMAKING AUTHORITY This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency. SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS SECTION 1. Amends Section 32.031, Government Code, by adding Subsection (d), to authorize the Commissioners Court of Cameron County, in addition to the salary authorized under Subsection (a), to pay the district judge who serves as the local administrative district judge in the county under Section 74.091 an annual salary for judicial and administrative duties in an amount set by the commissioners court. SECTION 2. Effective date: September 1, 2001.
