SRC-TBR S.B. 145 77(R) BILL ANALYSIS Senate Research Center S.B. 145 77R1190 GJH-DBy: Carona Health and Human Services 1/16/2001 As Filed DIGEST AND PURPOSE Currently, the Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiners has the authority to issue only one license to the owner of a chiropractic facility regardless of the number of chiropractic facilities owned by the owner. As proposed, S.B. 145 allows the Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiners to issue and collect a fee for each facility owned by the owner. RULEMAKING AUTHORITY This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency. SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS SECTION 1. Amends Section 201.312(b), Occupation Code, to require rules adopted under this section to provide for the issuance of one facility license to an owner of a chiropractic facility for each, rather than without regard to the number of, chiropractic facility, rather than facilities, owned by the owner. SECTION 2. Effective date: September 1, 2001. SECTION 3. Makes application of this Act prospective.
