DIGEST AND PURPOSE

Currently the Education Code provides funding for the transportation of a
"regular eligible student" to and from school. The current definition of
"regular eligible student" is unclear as to whether it includes those
students who attend a magnet school. This bill codifies a rule allowing
the transportation allotment to be spent on transporting students to and
from magnet schools and clarifies that the funding does include
transportation of students to magnet schools.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a
state officer, institution, or agency.
