DIGEST AND PURPOSE

Currently, the 32nd Judicial District has three unequal terms of court
consisting of a five-month term in each county, a four-month term in each
county, and a three-month term in each county. This system causes some
citizens to serve a disproportionate grand jury term. S.B. 181 equalizes
the terms of court in the 32nd Judicial District by providing for three
four-month terms, in lieu of the current system.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a
state officer, institution, or agency.
