SRC-SEW S.B. 200 77(R)BILL ANALYSIS Senate Research CenterS.B. 200 By: Madla Intergovernmental Relations 6/14/2001 Enrolled DIGEST AND PURPOSE Currently, state agencies and regional councils are not required to coordinate with each other in the implementation of state programs. This bill adds language that requires coordination between state agencies and commissions in the implementation of state programs at the regional level. RULEMAKING AUTHORITY This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency. SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS SECTION 1. Amends Section 391.009, Local Government Code, by adding Subsection (c), to require state agencies to coordinate with commissions in carrying out planning and program development responsibilities in order to ensure effective and orderly implementation of state programs at the regional level. SECTION 2. Effective date: upon passage or September 1, 2001.
