DIGEST AND PURPOSE

Currently, an eligible, law enforcement employee is entitled to hazardous
duty pay of $7 a month for each year of service, a factor that may
contribute to turnover rates at several agencies. As proposed, S.B. 435
allows for $25 dollars a month to be paid in hazardous duty pay.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a
state officer, institution, or agency.

SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS

that requires the performance of hazardous duty, not to exceed 30 years of
service.

SECTION 2. Effective date: September 1, 2001.
