HBA-CBW S.B. 774 77(R) BILL ANALYSIS Office of House Bill AnalysisS.B. 774 By: Harris Judicial Affairs 4/9/2001 Engrossed BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Currently, Johnson and Somervell counties are part of the Third Administrative Judicial Region, a large region extending from the Dallas/Fort Worth area down to Austin. These two counties are geographically close to and have some interest in issues considered by the Eighth Administrative Judicial Region. Senate Bill 774 moves Johnson and Somervell counties from the Third Administrative Judicial Region to the Eighth Administrative Judicial Region. RULEMAKING AUTHORITY It is the opinion of the Office of House Bill Analysis that this bill does not expressly delegate any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, department, agency, or institution. ANALYSIS Senate Bill 774 amends the Government Code to remove Johnson and Somervell counties from the Third Administrative Judicial Region and add them to the Eighth Administrative Judicial Region. EFFECTIVE DATE September 1, 2001.
