DIGEST AND PURPOSE

Currently, many state agencies are experiencing difficulty recruiting and
hiring employees. The systems in place that list job postings, despite
recent improvement, are not adequately meeting the needs of state agencies.
As proposed, S.B. 798 provides for the Department of Information Resources,
working with the Texas Workforce Commission and other state agencies, to
create and implement an online system for listing state agency employment
openings.

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a
state officer, institution, or agency.
