SRC-JEC S.B. 883 77(R) BILL ANALYSIS Senate Research Center S.B. 883 2001S0527/1By: Nelson Intergovernmental Relations 3/13/2001 As Filed DIGEST AND PURPOSE Currently, the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport Board can acquire up to 10 percent of its holdings in a host city (Grapevine, Coppell, Irving, and Euless) without the consent of the host city. As proposed, S.B. 883 requires the consent of the host city in all acquisitions of property within that city's jurisdiction. RULEMAKING AUTHORITY This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency. SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS SECTION 1. Amends Section 22.075(a), Transportation Code, to delete language requiring municipal consent for airport enlargement only in instances when more than an aggregate of 10 percent of a portion of the land area of the airport is in the municipality. SECTION 2. Effective date: September 1, 2001.
