DIGEST AND PURPOSE

Currently, a bail bond surety is required to hold a license in the county
of practice. However, occasionally a bondsman not licensed to do business
in another county advertises in local media. As proposed, S.B. 1403
clarifies that a bail bond surety is required to be licensed in the county
where the bondsman advertises.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a
state officer, institution, or agency.
