DIGEST AND PURPOSE

Currently, the Alcoholic Beverage Code (code) states in Section 206.01 that
each alcoholic beverage permit holder is required to make and keep records
required by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC). The code
provides that records are required to be kept for a minimum of four years
and are required to be made available for inspection on request of the TABC
during reasonable office hours. As proposed, S.B. 1667 allows permit
holders to store records electronically and in a central location.
