DIGEST AND PURPOSE

Currently, the Act creating the Beeville Water Supply District limits the
district's boundaries to the city of Beeville's boundaries as of January 1,
1979. As proposed, S.B. 1758 removes the January 1, 1979, qualification and
allows the district to add more territory without following certain
annexation procedures in the Act if the city of Beeville has annexed the
territory.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a
state officer, institution, or agency.

SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS

SECTION 1. Amends Chapter 432, Section 2, Acts of the 66th Legislature,
Regular Session, 1979, as follows:

Texas, on the date the district is created, and authorizes the board to

under Section 8 of this Act. Deletes reference to January 1, 1979.

(b) Authorizes the board, if the city of Beeville annexes territory to
include more territory within its boundaries, to consider whether the new
territory should be added to the territory of the district and to perform
certain other related procedures.

SECTION 2. Effective date: upon passage or September 1, 2001.
