No. 809 77R2984 BDH-D A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 1-1 AN ACT 1-2 relating to the use of public school educators' days of service for 1-3 which instruction is not required. 1-4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 1-5 SECTION 1. Section 11.253(e), Education Code, is amended to 1-6 read as follows: 1-7 (e) In accordance with the administrative procedures 1-8 established under Section 11.251(b), the campus-level committee 1-9 shall be involved in decisions in the areas of planning, budgeting, 1-10 curriculum, staffing patterns, staff development, and school 1-11 organization. The campus-level committee must approve: 1-12 (1) the use of educators' days of service for which 1-13 instruction is not required; and 1-14 (2) the portions of the campus plan addressing campus 1-15 staff development needs. 1-16 SECTION 2. This Act applies beginning with the 2001-2002 1-17 school year. 1-18 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives 1-19 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as 1-20 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this 1-21 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this 1-22 Act takes effect September 1, 2001.
