                                A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 1-1                                   AN ACT
 1-2     relating to references in the Code of Criminal Procedure to an
 1-3     offense of treason.
 1-4           BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 1-5           SECTION 1. Articles 38.15 and 38.16, Code of Criminal
 1-6     Procedure, are repealed.
 1-7           SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives a
 1-8     vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
 1-9     provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
1-10     Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
1-11     Act takes effect September 1, 2001.
