1-1                                   AN ACT
 1-2     relating to the creation of municipal courts of record in Bullard.
 1-3           BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 1-4           SECTION 1. Chapter 30, Government Code, is amended by adding
 1-5     Subchapter MM to read as follows:
 1-6                           SUBCHAPTER MM.  BULLARD
 1-7           Sec. 30.01481.  APPLICATION. This subchapter applies to the
 1-8     City of Bullard.
 1-9           Sec. 30.01482.  QUALIFICATIONS OF JUDGE. (a)  A municipal
1-10     judge must be:
1-11                 (1)  a resident of this state; and
1-12                 (2)  a citizen of the United States.
1-13           (b)  Section 30.00006(c) does not apply to this subchapter.
1-14           SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
1-15     a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
1-16     provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
1-17     Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
1-18     Act takes effect September 1, 2001.
