 1-7                            A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 1-8                                   AN ACT
 1-9     relating to the creation of municipal courts of record in Bullard.
1-10           BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1-11           SECTION 1. Chapter 30, Government Code, is amended by adding
1-12     Subchapter MM to read as follows:
1-13                           SUBCHAPTER MM.  BULLARD
1-14           Sec. 30.01481.  APPLICATION. This subchapter applies to the
1-15     City of Bullard.
1-16           Sec. 30.01482.  QUALIFICATIONS OF JUDGE. (a)  A municipal
1-17     judge must be:
1-18                 (1)  a resident of this state; and
1-19                 (2)  a citizen of the United States.
1-20           (b)  Section 30.00006(c) does not apply to this subchapter.
1-21           SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
1-22     a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
1-23     provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
1-24     Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
1-25     Act takes effect September 1, 2001.
