                                A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 1-1                                   AN ACT
 1-2     relating to the use of gender-neutral terminology in publications
 1-3     of the office of the attorney general.
 1-4           BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 1-5           SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 402, Government Code, is
 1-6     amended by adding Section 402.030 to read as follows:
 1-7           Sec. 402.030.  USE OF GENDER-NEUTRAL TERMINOLOGY. The office
 1-8     of the attorney general shall use gender-neutral terminology in any
 1-9     publication distributed by the office to the public, including any
1-10     publication related to child support enforcement.
1-11           SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect January 1, 2002.
