No. 1560 77R5076 BDH-D A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 1-1 AN ACT 1-2 relating to the use of gender-neutral terminology in publications 1-3 of the office of the attorney general. 1-4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 1-5 SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 402, Government Code, is 1-6 amended by adding Section 402.030 to read as follows: 1-7 Sec. 402.030. USE OF GENDER-NEUTRAL TERMINOLOGY. The office 1-8 of the attorney general shall use gender-neutral terminology in any 1-9 publication distributed by the office to the public, including any 1-10 publication related to child support enforcement. 1-11 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives 1-12 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as 1-13 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this 1-14 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this 1-15 Act takes effect September 1, 2001. 1-16 COMMITTEE AMENDMENT NO. 1 1-17 Amend House Bill 1560 as follows: 1-18 (1) Strike Section 2 of the bill; and, 1-19 (2) On page 1, following line 10, insert the following: 1-20 SECTION 2.
