                                A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 1-1                                   AN ACT
 1-2     relating to unexpended balances in the judicial and court personnel
 1-3     training fund.
 1-4           BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 1-5           SECTION 1. Section 56.001(i), Government Code, is amended to
 1-6     read as follows:
 1-7           (i)  On requisition of the court of criminal appeals, the
 1-8     comptroller shall draw a warrant on the fund for the amount
 1-9     specified in the requisition for a use authorized in Section
1-10     56.003.  A warrant may not exceed the amount appropriated for any
1-11     one fiscal year.  At the end of each state fiscal year, any
1-12     unexpended balance in the fund in excess of $1,500,000 [$500,000]
1-13     shall be transferred to the general revenue fund.
1-14           SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2001.
