                                A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 1-1                                   AN ACT
 1-2     relating to the enforcement of a lien by the Texas Workforce
 1-3     Commission for unpaid wages or penalties.
 1-4           BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 1-5           SECTION 1. Subchapter E, Chapter 61, Labor Code, is amended
 1-6     by adding Section 61.0825 to read as follows:
 1-7           Sec. 61.0825.  PRIORITY OF LIEN. A lien established under
 1-8     this subchapter is superior to any other lien on the same property,
 1-9     including a lien for ad valorem taxes.
1-10           SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2001, and
1-11     applies to a lien imposed by the Texas Workforce Commission under
1-12     Chapter 61, Labor Code, without regard to whether the lien was
1-13     imposed before, on, or after that date.

1-16     on p.1 line 9 strike "including" and replace with "with the
1-17     exception of".
