                                A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 1-1                                   AN ACT
 1-2     relating to granting one-time merit payments under the state
 1-3     employee incentive program.
 1-4           BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 1-5           SECTION 1. Section 659.261, Government Code, is amended by
 1-6     adding Subsection (f) to read as follows:
 1-7           (f)  This section does not apply to a one-time merit payment
 1-8     granted under Subchapter B, Chapter 2108.
 1-9           SECTION 2. Section 2108.037, Government Code, is amended by
1-10     adding Subsection (c) to read as follows:
1-11           (c)  The affected agency may use a portion of the savings or
1-12     revenues attributable to an implemented suggestion to grant
1-13     one-time merit payments under Section 659.255.
1-14           SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2001.
