1-1 AN ACT 1-2 relating to the sale of Woodlawn by the State Preservation Board. 1-3 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 1-4 SECTION 1. Section 443.025, Government Code, is amended by 1-5 adding Subsections (c) and (d) to read as follows: 1-6 (c) The board, after consulting with the Texas Historical 1-7 Commission and with the approval of the Legislative Budget Board, 1-8 may sell Woodlawn at its fair market value. The General Land 1-9 Office shall transact the sale on behalf of the board using 1-10 procedures under Section 31.158(c), Natural Resources Code. 1-11 Proceeds from the transaction: 1-12 (1) shall be deposited in the Capitol renewal account 1-13 or its successor in function under Section 443.0103; and 1-14 (2) may be spent only for a purpose described by 1-15 Section 443.0103. 1-16 (d) In selling Woodlawn under Subsection (c), the board 1-17 shall add to the deed of Woodlawn a provision that requires the 1-18 purchaser to use the property in a manner that preserves the 1-19 historical character of Woodlawn, including its buildings, facades, 1-20 interior, and grounds. 1-21 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives 1-22 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as 1-23 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this 1-24 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this 2-1 Act takes effect September 1, 2001. _______________________________ _______________________________ President of the Senate Speaker of the House I certify that H.B.
