                                A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 1-1                                   AN ACT
 1-2     relating to certain reporting requirements with respect to the
 1-3     unemployment compensation fund.
 1-4           BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 1-5           SECTION 1. Section 203.002, Labor Code, is amended by adding
 1-6     Subsection (d) to read as follows:
 1-7           (d)  The comptroller shall determine the balance of the
 1-8     compensation fund on a quarterly basis.  The comptroller shall
 1-9     prepare an annual report regarding the balance of the fund and the
1-10     average amount of the money in the fund for each quarter.  The
1-11     comptroller shall submit the report to the commission annually on
1-12     October 1.
1-13           SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2001.
