                                A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 1-1                                   AN ACT
 1-2     relating to the authority of county governments to regulate
 1-3     subdivision development in the unincorporated areas of a county.
 1-4           BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 1-5           SECTION 1. Section 232.0015(h), Local Government Code, is
 1-6     amended to read as follows:
 1-7           (h)  The provisions of this subchapter shall not apply to a
 1-8     subdivision of any tract of land belonging to the state or any
 1-9     state agency, board, or commission or owned by the permanent school
1-10     fund, the veterans' land fund, or any other dedicated funds of the
1-11     state unless the subdivision lays out a part of the tract described
1-12     by Section 232.001(a)(3).
1-13           SECTION 2.  Section 232.0015(g), Local Government Code, is
1-14     repealed.
1-15           SECTION 3.  The changes in law made by this Act to Section
1-16     232.0015, Local Government Code, apply only to a tract of land
1-17     subdivided on or after the effective date of this Act. A tract of
1-18     land subdivided before the effective date of this Act is governed
1-19     by the law in effect immediately before the effective date of this
1-20     Act, and that law is continued in effect for that purpose.
1-21           SECTION 4.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2001.
