                                A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 1-1                                   AN ACT
 1-2     relating to the application of the sunset review process to certain
 1-3     governmental entities.
 1-4           BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 1-5           SECTION 1. Section 412.021(f), Labor Code, is amended to read
 1-6     as follows:
 1-7           (f)  The risk management board is subject to Chapter 325,
 1-8     Government Code (Texas Sunset Act).  Unless continued in existence
 1-9     as provided by that chapter, the board is abolished and this
1-10     section expires September 1, 2007 [2009].
1-11           SECTION 2. Section 1703.005, Occupations Code, is amended to
1-12     read as follows:
1-13           Sec. 1703.005.  APPLICATION OF SUNSET ACT. The Polygraph
1-14     Examiners Board is subject to Chapter 325, Government Code (Texas
1-15     Sunset Act). Unless continued in existence as provided by that
1-16     chapter, the board is abolished and this chapter expires September
1-17     1, 2009 [2003].   
1-18           SECTION 3. Section 21.002, Human Resources Code, is amended
1-19     to read as follows:
1-20           Sec. 21.002.  SUNSET PROVISION. The Texas Department of Human
1-21     Services is subject to Chapter 325, Government Code (Texas Sunset
1-22     Act). Unless continued in existence as provided by that chapter,
1-23     the department is abolished and this title expires September 1,
1-24     2011 [2003], except that Chapter 40 expires as provided by Section
 2-1     40.003.
 2-2           SECTION 4. The following laws are repealed:
 2-3                 (1)  Section 465.002, Government Code (Texas National
 2-4     Research Laboratory Commission); and
 2-5                 (2)  Section 752.025, Government Code (Governor's
 2-6     Advisory Committee on Immigration and Refugees).
 2-7           SECTION 5. This Act takes effect September 1, 2001.
