                                A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 1-1                                   AN ACT
 1-2     relating to the authority of a municipality to condemn a street
 1-3     light system.
 1-4           BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 1-5           SECTION 1. Subchapter Z, Chapter 311, Transportation Code, is
 1-6     amended by adding Section 311.9025 to read as follows:
 1-7           Sec. 311.9025.  AUTHORITY TO CONDEMN STREET LIGHT SYSTEM. A
 1-8     municipality may exercise the power of eminent domain to condemn a
 1-9     street light system located in the municipality, including the
1-10     equipment necessary to operate the street lights and all
1-11     appurtenances to the street lights.
1-12           SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2001.
