                                A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 1-1                                   AN ACT
 1-2     relating to the form and content of notices of matters under the
 1-3     jurisdiction of the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission.
 1-4           BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 1-5           SECTION 1.  Subchapter D, Chapter 5, Water Code, is amended
 1-6     by adding Section 5.127 to read as follows:
 1-7           Sec. 5.127.  FORM AND CONTENT OF NOTICES.  (a)  The
 1-8     commission by rule shall provide standards for the form and content
 1-9     of notices issued or published by the commission or by a person
1-10     under the jurisdiction of the commission as required by law or by
1-11     commission rule.
1-12           (b)  The rules must require that the form and content of
1-13     notices be clear and understandable to members of the general
1-14     public.
1-15           SECTION 2.  (a)  The commission shall adopt rules under
1-16     Section 5.127, Water Code, as added by this Act, to take effect not
1-17     later than March 1, 2002.
1-18           (b)  This Act takes effect September 1, 2001.
