1-1 AN ACT 1-2 relating to the collection and assessment of certain information by 1-3 the Texas Workforce Commission. 1-4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 1-5 SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 302, Labor Code, is amended 1-6 by adding Section 302.0045 to read as follows: 1-7 Sec. 302.0045. QUALITY INITIATIVES BY COMMISSION. (a) The 1-8 commission shall collect state and local information relating to 1-9 the effectiveness of the use of four percent quality dollars by 1-10 local workforce development boards. The commission shall produce a 1-11 report that highlights promising practices in expanding quality 1-12 early education. 1-13 (b) In performing its duties under this section, the 1-14 commission shall report to the legislature and other interested 1-15 persons on local programs and services that show promise in 1-16 expanding access to quality early education. 1-17 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives 1-18 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as 1-19 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.
