1-1                                   AN ACT
 1-2     relating to the membership of the interagency work group on
 1-3     unfunded mandates on political subdivisions.
 1-4           BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 1-5           SECTION 1. Section 320.002(a), Government Code, is amended to
 1-6     read as follows:
 1-7           (a)  The unfunded mandates interagency work group consists
 1-8     of:
 1-9                 (1)  the state auditor;
1-10                 (2)  the director of the Legislative Budget Board;
1-11                 (3)  the comptroller;
1-12                 (4)  a senator appointed by the lieutenant governor;
1-13     [and]
1-14                 (5)  a house member appointed by the speaker of the
1-15     house of representatives;
1-16                 (6)  one officer of a political subdivision appointed
1-17     by the lieutenant governor; and
1-18                 (7)  one employee or officer of a political subdivision
1-19     appointed by the speaker of the house of representatives.
1-20           SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2001.
