                                A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 1-1                                   AN ACT
 1-2     relating to information included on the Internet website of the
 1-3     Texas Department of Transportation.
 1-4           BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 1-5           SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 223, Transportation Code, is
 1-6     amended by adding Section 223.0042 to read as follows:
 1-7           Sec. 223.0042.  CONTRACT INFORMATION ON INTERNET WEBSITE.
 1-8     The department shall make available on the department's Internet
 1-9     website a listing describing each contract awarded by the
1-10     commission for a highway construction project.
1-11           SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2001.
