1-1 AN ACT 1-2 relating to prevention and detection of fraud in hospital district 1-3 funded indigent health care programs. 1-4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 1-5 SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 61, Health and Safety Code, 1-6 is amended by adding Section 61.066 to read as follows: 1-7 Sec. 61.066. PREVENTION AND DETECTION OF FRAUD. (a) A 1-8 hospital district may adopt reasonable procedures for minimizing 1-9 the opportunity for fraud, for establishing and maintaining methods 1-10 for detecting and identifying situations in which a question of 1-11 fraud may exist, and for administrative hearings to be conducted on 1-12 disqualifying persons in cases where fraud appears to exist. 1-13 (b) Procedures established by a hospital district for 1-14 administrative hearings conducted under this section shall provide 1-15 for appropriate due process, including procedures for appeals. _______________________________ _______________________________ President of the Senate Speaker of the House I certify that H.B.
