                                A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 1-1                                   AN ACT
 1-2     relating to overtime compensation for certain employees of the
 1-3     Texas Forest Service while working in an emergency situation.
 1-4           BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 1-5           SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 659, Government Code, is
 1-6     amended by adding Section 659.0165 to read as follows:
 1-7           Sec. 659.0165.  OVERTIME COMPENSATION FOR TEXAS FOREST
 1-8     SERVICE EMPLOYEES. Notwithstanding any other law, the Texas Forest
 1-9     Service may pay its employees overtime compensation for work done
1-10     in an emergency and may pay its employees compensation for unused
1-11     compensatory time accrued while working during an emergency.
1-12           SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2001.
