 1-6                            A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 1-7                                   AN ACT
 1-8     relating to composition of the Texas Department of Mental Health
 1-9     and Mental Retardation.
1-10           BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1-11           SECTION 1. Section 532.001(b), Health and Safety Code, is
1-12     amended to read as follows:
1-13           (b)  The department also includes community services operated
1-14     by the department and the following facilities:
1-15                 (1)  the central office of the department;
1-16                 (2)  the Austin State Hospital;
1-17                 (3)  the Big Spring State Hospital;
1-18                 (4)  the Kerrville State Hospital;
1-19                 (5)  the Rusk State Hospital;
1-20                 (6)  the San Antonio State Hospital;
1-21                 (7)  the Terrell State Hospital;
1-22                 (8)  the North Texas State Hospital;
1-23                 (9)  the Abilene State School;
1-24                 (10)  the Austin State School;
1-25                 (11)  the Brenham State School;
1-26                 (12)  the Corpus Christi State School;
1-27                 (13)  the Denton State School;
1-28                 (14)  the Lubbock State School;
1-29                 (15)  the Lufkin State School;
1-30                 (16)  the Mexia State School;
1-31                 (17)  the Richmond State School;
1-32                 (18)  the San Angelo State School;
1-33                 (19)  the San Antonio State School;
1-34                 (20)  [the Amarillo State Center;]
1-35                 [(21)  the Beaumont State Center;]
1-36                 [(22)]  the El Paso State Center;
1-37                 (21) [(23)  the Laredo State Center;]
1-38                 [(24)]  the Rio Grande State Center; and
1-39                 (22) [(25)]  the Waco Center for Youth.
1-40           SECTION 2.  The importance of this legislation and the
1-41     crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
1-42     emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
1-43     constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
1-44     days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended,
1-45     and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its
1-46     passage, and it is so enacted.
