                                A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 1-1                                   AN ACT
 1-2     relating to educational requirements for game wardens.
 1-3           BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 1-4           SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 11, Parks and Wildlife Code,
 1-5     is amended by adding Section 11.0221 to read as follows:
 1-6           Sec. 11.0221.  EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR GAME WARDENS.
 1-7     The director shall ensure that the educational qualifications
 1-8     required of an applicant for the position of game warden do not
 1-9     exceed those required of an applicant for a position as an officer
1-10     with the Department of Public Safety.
1-11           SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2001.
