HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
 1-1           WHEREAS, The family and friends of E. W. "Buddy" Anguish,
 1-2     Jr., of Midland, were deeply saddened by the passing of this
 1-3     esteemed gentleman on January 3, 2001, at the age of 71; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, Born on January 26, 1929, in Midland, Mr. Anguish
 1-5     graduated in 1950 from The University of Texas at Austin, where he
 1-6     trained in the field of geology; after answering his country's call
 1-7     to duty and serving in the United States Army from 1953 through
 1-8     1955, he embarked on a successful career as an oil operator; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, In addition to having a noteworthy career in the
1-10     petroleum industry, Mr. Anguish gave generously of his time and
1-11     resources; he and his wife, Nancy, supported various arts and
1-12     humanities organizations, including the Midland Community Theatre,
1-13     Arts Assembly of Midland, and Midland-Odessa Symphony & Chorale and
1-14     institutions of higher education, including Schreiner College and
1-15     Midland College; and
1-16           WHEREAS, They also contributed to the Confederate Air Force
1-17     and American Airpower Heritage Museum, the Museum of the Southwest,
1-18     and the Permian Petroleum Museum and benefited many charities and
1-19     hospitals, namely the Midland Memorial Hospital, the High Sky
1-20     Children's Ranch, and the Hospice of Midland; and
1-21           WHEREAS, This distinguished individual left an indelible mark
1-22     on the world through his professional endeavors, altruistic deeds,
1-23     and care and compassion for others, and his spirit will undoubtedly
1-24     live on in the hearts of the many people he so deeply touched; now,
 2-1     therefore, be it
 2-2           RESOLVED, That the 77th Legislature of the State of Texas
 2-3     hereby pay tribute to the life of E. W. "Buddy" Anguish, Jr., and
 2-4     extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family:  to his wife,
 2-5     Nancy Anguish; to his son, Steven Anguish; to his daughter, Lynn
 2-6     Anguish; to his daughter, Margaret Anguish Cobb and her husband,
 2-7     Robert; to his daughter, Ellen Anguish Pacic and her husband,
 2-8     Jimmy; to his stepson, John Rodman Steele and his wife, Dina; to
 2-9     his five grandchildren; to his sister, Gloria Ruth Evans; and to
2-10     his many other relatives and friends; and, be it further
2-11           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-12     prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas
2-13     House of Representatives and Senate adjourn this day, they do so in
2-14     memory of E. W. Anguish, Jr.
