HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
1-1 WHEREAS, The year 2000 marked the 50th anniversary of St.
1-2 Ann's School in Midland, and this occasion is most deserving of
1-3 special recognition; and
1-4 WHEREAS, In serving Texas families for five decades, this
1-5 Catholic school has long been a valued part of the Midland
1-6 community; generations of Texans have attended this enduring
1-7 institution, many utilizing the education they received as a
1-8 foundation for future success in such fields as business, law,
1-9 medicine, and public service; and
1-10 WHEREAS, This outstanding school is fully accredited and
1-11 provides a challenging academic curriculum for more than 400
1-12 students from preschool through the eighth grade; visual arts,
1-13 instrumental music, computer science, physical education, and
1-14 Spanish are a sampling of its diverse and innovative courses; and
1-15 WHEREAS, St. Ann's School also boasts a flourishing Early
1-16 Childhood Center program that offers children a positive
1-17 introduction to learning in a relaxed and inviting environment,
1-18 appropriate for their developing skills and limitless curiosity;
1-19 and
1-20 WHEREAS, The faculty and staff of this fine facility are well
1-21 aware of the importance of parental involvement during a child's
1-22 education and work closely with individual families to ensure that
1-23 all students perform at their highest potential; this dedication to
1-24 the students is quite admirable and clearly demonstrates why St.
2-1 Ann's has been so successful for a half-century; and
2-2 WHEREAS, Endeavoring to challenge future leaders of our state
2-3 and nation and provide them with the knowledge and tools they need
2-4 to succeed is indeed a commendable undertaking, and it is truly a
2-5 privilege to honor all those associated with St. Ann's School as it
2-6 celebrates its 50th anniversary; now, therefore, be it
2-7 RESOLVED, That the 77th Legislature of the State of Texas
2-8 hereby recognize the golden anniversary of St. Ann's School in
2-9 Midland and honor the many individuals who devote their time and
2-10 energy to this noteworthy institution; and, be it further
2-11 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-12 prepared for St. Ann's School as an expression of high regard by
2-13 the Texas House of Representatives and Senate.
