                             HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
 1-1           WHEREAS, The 77th Legislature of the State of Texas is proud
 1-2     to welcome the members of Leadership Waxahachie as they travel to
 1-3     Austin to visit the State Capitol on February 6, 2001; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, Leadership Waxahachie, a program initiated by the
 1-5     city's chamber of commerce in 1991, enables participants to learn
 1-6     more about the industry, history, and culture of Waxahachie, as
 1-7     well as their roles as city leaders; and
 1-8           WHEREAS, The group is afforded the opportunity to work with
 1-9     numerous representatives of city, school district, and civic
1-10     organizations, assisting them in reaching goals and setting targets
1-11     for improvement; and
1-12           WHEREAS, The 2000-2001 members of Leadership Waxahachie
1-13     include Ron Ansell, Lou Bryant, Chris Fry, Kelli O. Garcia, Fred
1-14     Harrington, Olivia Harrington, Rainey Hicks, Eric Martin, Ron
1-15     Midkiff, Floy Poe, Bart Rodgers, Dennis Rolwing, Allison Sullivan,
1-16     Pam Underwood, and Darene Walker, and the group's committee chairs
1-17     are past participants Sharon Cook and Mark Singleton; and
1-18           WHEREAS, The Leadership Waxahachie program encourages and
1-19     empowers citizens to strive for success and to be actively involved
1-20     in their community, and all those participating in and sponsoring
1-21     this commendable endeavor are most deserving of special legislative
1-22     praise; now, therefore, be it
1-23           RESOLVED, That the 77th Legislature of the State of Texas
1-24     hereby commend  Leadership Waxahachie for its significant
 2-1     contributions to the betterment of Texas; and, be it further
 2-2           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-3     prepared for this organization as an expression of high regard by
 2-4     the Texas House of Representatives and Senate.
