No. 142 77R6983 JKB-D HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 1-1 WHEREAS, The Metro Christian Academy in Arlington works to 1-2 provide an unsurpassed academic and spiritual environment for the 1-3 youth of its community, and this noteworthy organization is truly 1-4 deserving of our praise and recognition; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Founded in 1995 by the Mount Olive Baptist Church, 1-6 Metro Christian Academy is an outstanding elementary and secondary 1-7 education facility, featuring an innovative curriculum that 1-8 provides for its students' intellectual, spiritual, social, and 1-9 physical development; and 1-10 WHEREAS, Students at the academy are encouraged to pursue 1-11 their love of learning in a way that compels them to hone their 1-12 natural abilities and to strive toward their full potential; 1-13 drawing on a child's inherent desire to learn and understand, the 1-14 Metro Christian Academy endeavors to offer its students a diverse 1-15 and challenging education that reinforces the school's timeless 1-16 ideals while exploring such essential subjects as reading, writing, 1-17 mathematics, foreign languages, science, fine arts, computers, and 1-18 social studies; and 1-19 WHEREAS, With faith as a foundation, the academy instills in 1-20 its students the importance of community involvement, brotherhood, 1-21 and respect for one another; these commendable goals, coupled with 1-22 an exceptional staff, ensure the young men and women who attend 1-23 Metro Christian Academy an exemplary education, and it is truly a 1-24 privilege to pay tribute to this fine institution at this time; 2-1 now, therefore, be it 2-2 RESOLVED, That the 77th Legislature of the State of Texas 2-3 hereby commend all those associated with the Metro Christian 2-4 Academy for their significant efforts in the field of education and 2-5 extend to them sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be 2-6 it further 2-7 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-8 prepared for the faculty, staff, and students of Metro Christian 2-9 Academy as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of 2-10 Representatives and Senate.
