                             HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
 1-1           WHEREAS, The arrival of distinguished foreign visitors to the
 1-2     State Capitol is truly a noteworthy occasion, and it is with great
 1-3     pleasure that we welcome the contingent from Tamaulipas, Mexico, on
 1-4     February 28, 2001; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, This estimable delegation includes some of
 1-6     Tamaulipas's most dedicated and learned civic, business, and
 1-7     education leaders, including the mayors of Tampico and Altamira and
 1-8     representatives from the region's universities, chambers of
 1-9     commerce, and industry; and
1-10           WHEREAS, The goal of their visit to the Lone Star State and
1-11     the State Capitol is to meet with legislators and others to share
1-12     ideas for improving economic development in their state; and
1-13           WHEREAS, The civic-mindedness and cooperative spirit of the
1-14     visiting group from Tamaulipas is indeed commendable, and it is
1-15     certainly a privilege to pay tribute to these dedicated community
1-16     leaders at this time; now, therefore, be it
1-17           RESOLVED, That the 77th Legislature of the State of Texas
1-18     hereby welcome the esteemed delegation from Tamaulipas, Mexico, and
1-19     extend to them sincere best wishes for an enjoyable and informative
1-20     visit to the Lone Star State.
