                             HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
 1-1           WHEREAS, The passing of Stella Mae Schroeder of Brenham on
 1-2     November 26, 2000, at the age of 83, brought a great loss to the
 1-3     family and many friends of this beloved woman; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, A native Texan, Mrs. Schroeder was born on October
 1-5     19, 1917, and attended Brenham High School; she married Alvin F.
 1-6     Schroeder on February 19, 1939, and their family grew to include
 1-7     two children, Alvin Neal and Debbie, and six cherished
 1-8     grandchildren; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, she
1-10     was a longtime member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church and
1-11     was active with the VFW Auxiliary and the American Legion
1-12     Auxiliary; and
1-13           WHEREAS, Mrs. Schroeder was adored by her close-knit family
1-14     and many friends, and though she will be missed by all who knew
1-15     her, her spirit will live on in the hearts and minds of the many
1-16     people whose lives she touched; now, therefore, be it
1-17           RESOLVED, That the 77th Legislature of the State of Texas
1-18     hereby pay tribute to the life of Stella Mae Schroeder and extend
1-19     sincere sympathy to the members of her family:  to her son and his
1-20     wife, Alvin Neal and Judee Schroeder; to her daughter and her
1-21     husband, Debbie and Jack Fickessen; to her grandchildren, Suzanne
1-22     and Lori Schroeder, Jami Cowan, Chase Fickessen, Dee Dee Roberts,
1-23     and David Wilson; to her sister, Lillian Buck; to her
1-24     sisters-in-law, Lillie and Helen Schroeder; and to her other
 2-1     relatives and friends; and, be it further
 2-2           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-3     prepared for the members of her family and that when the Texas
 2-4     House of Representatives and Senate adjourn today, they do so in
 2-5     memory of Stella Mae Schroeder.
