HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
 1-1           WHEREAS, The Natural Resources Foundation of Texas and Texas
 1-2     Tech University established the Natural Resources Institute in
 1-3     1992, and this notable collaborative effort is truly deserving of
 1-4     special recognition; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, Working to provide an environmentally and
 1-6     economically sound future for the State of Texas, the Natural
 1-7     Resources Foundation of Texas is dedicated to educating the public
 1-8     about the conservation of this area's rich natural resources; this
 1-9     worthwhile organization has earned national acclaim for its unique
1-10     educational approach and vision in its dealings with universities
1-11     and colleges throughout the state; and
1-12           WHEREAS, Texas Tech University, a school renowned for its
1-13     exceptional research in the field, has also been widely recognized
1-14     for its continuing commitment to environmental education and
1-15     preservation; the university has worked to equip its aspiring
1-16     teachers for their chosen careers by providing a well-rounded view
1-17     of the environmental issues within the state; and
1-18           WHEREAS, The union of these two highly respected institutions
1-19     has brought forth a truly unique organization; the Natural
1-20     Resources Institute provides a challenging and exciting educational
1-21     experience and invites an insightful perspective on the state of
1-22     natural resources in Texas; and
1-23           WHEREAS, Working to understand, protect, and preserve the
1-24     native environment of this beautiful land is truly a laudable
 2-1     undertaking, and it is a privilege to honor the men and women who
 2-2     have chosen to take on that endeavor; now, therefore, be it
 2-3           RESOLVED, That the 77th Texas Legislature hereby commend all
 2-4     those involved with the Natural Resources Institute and extend to
 2-5     them sincere best wishes for continued success in the future.
