HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
 1-1           WHEREAS, The Honorable Richard L. "Rick" Crawford served the
 1-2     people of Potter County with honor and distinction as a state
 1-3     representative in the Texas Legislature from 1989 to 1992; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, His extensive and successful background in
 1-5     commercial investment and real estate development before his
 1-6     election to the Texas House generously prepared him for his current
 1-7     position as executive director of the Texas State Preservation
 1-8     Board; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, In his role as a key member of the project team
1-10     charged with the construction of the Bob Bullock State History
1-11     Museum, Rick Crawford provided the necessary leadership to ensure
1-12     that the construction was completed in a timely manner and under
1-13     budget, saving the citizens of Texas a substantial amount of state
1-14     funds; and
1-15           WHEREAS, In large part due to the hard work and dedication of
1-16     this one man, the Bob Bullock State History Museum will benefit
1-17     present and future generations of Texans for years to come by
1-18     telling the "Story of Texas"; and
1-19           WHEREAS, Rick Crawford's other duties include the important
1-20     job of overseeing the day-to-day operations and the safekeeping of
1-21     the historic State Capitol, Capitol Extension, and Capitol grounds
1-22     among other state historic properties; and
1-23           WHEREAS, He often manages and directs important state events
1-24     such as the dedication ceremony of the Bob Bullock State History
 2-1     Museum on April 27, 2001, and Member's Reunion Day 2001 held on
 2-2     April 26, 2001, honoring former state legislators, and the state is
 2-3     a far better place as a result of his distinguished service; now,
 2-4     therefore, be it
 2-5           RESOLVED, That the 77th Legislature of the State of Texas
 2-6     hereby pay tribute to the Honorable Richard L. "Rick" Crawford for
 2-7     his many notable achievements and contributions to the Lone Star
 2-8     State; and, be it further
 2-9           RESOLVED, That the State of Texas, being well-served by his
2-10     leadership, hereby urge Rick Crawford to continue in his capacity
2-11     as executive director of the Texas State Preservation Board for the
2-12     benefit of future generations of Texans; and, be it further
2-13           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-14     prepared for Mr. Crawford in recognition of the debt of gratitude
2-15     owed him for his 12 years of exemplary public service.
