HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
 1-1           WHEREAS, The family and many friends of Pauline DeBerry have
 1-2     suffered a great loss with her recent passing on March 23, 2001,
 1-3     and at this time, it is most appropriate to recognize the life of
 1-4     this esteemed woman; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, A native Texan, Mrs. DeBerry was born in Red River
 1-6     County on July 18, 1916; the beloved wife of Luther DeBerry for 63
 1-7     years, she was a homemaker throughout the couple's marriage; and
 1-8           WHEREAS, Mrs. DeBerry was an avid gardener, bridge player,
 1-9     and member of the First Christian Church; she gave generously of
1-10     her time and talents to the Christian Women's Fellowship and the
1-11     Rotary Anns and Spools, and before moving to Lufkin, she lived in
1-12     Austin and was an active hospital volunteer and member of the State
1-13     Officials Wives Club; and
1-14           WHEREAS, While Mrs. DeBerry will be greatly missed, her
1-15     spirit will assuredly live on in the hearts and minds of the many
1-16     people with whom she shared her life; now, therefore, be it
1-17           RESOLVED, That the 77th Legislature of the State of Texas
1-18     hereby pay tribute to the life of Pauline DeBerry and extend
1-19     sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her husband,
1-20     Luther DeBerry; to her daughter and her husband, Nancy and Thomas
1-21     Moore; to her grandson, Harmon Drew Moore; to her sister, Louise
1-22     Parks; and to her other relatives and numerous friends; and, be it
1-23     further
1-24           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-1     prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
 2-2     Representatives and Senate adjourn this day, they do so in memory
 2-3     of Pauline DeBerry.
