HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
 1-1           WHEREAS, On May 30, 2001, James O. Hesson of Roxton is
 1-2     bringing to a close his long and distinguished career in education
 1-3     when he retires as superintendent of the Roxton Independent School
 1-4     District; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, Mr. Hesson has devoted 35 years to education,
 1-6     working as a classroom teacher, principal, and superintendent;
 1-7     since 1990, this esteemed gentleman has led with distinction the
 1-8     Roxton ISD as superintendent of schools; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, Involved in various professional organizations,
1-10     Mr. Hesson has given his time and expertise to the Texas
1-11     Association of School Administrators, Texas Rural Education
1-12     Association, where he served as past president, and the Lamar
1-13     County Coalition for Education; moreover, he has been involved with
1-14     the Region VIII Education Service Center, SBDM Board, Leadership
1-15     Academy, and Regional Advisory Committee; and
1-16           WHEREAS, Mr. Hesson has also been a valued contributor to
1-17     civic causes as member and past secretary of Roxton Kiwanis,
1-18     president of the Roxton Business Development Corporation, and board
1-19     member and treasurer of Chaparral Rails to Trails; and
1-20           WHEREAS, Mr. Hesson has been a benefactor to his school
1-21     district and community in numerous ways, and his extensive record
1-22     of service truly warrants legislative commendation; now, therefore,
1-23     be it
1-24           RESOLVED, That the 77th Legislature of the State of Texas
 2-1     hereby congratulate James O. Hesson on the occasion of his
 2-2     retirement from the Roxton Independent School District and extend
 2-3     to him sincere best wishes for a rewarding and happy retirement;
 2-4     and, be it further
 2-5           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-6     prepared for Mr. Hesson as an expression of high regard by the
 2-7     Texas House of Representatives and Senate.
