                                 A JOINT RESOLUTION
 1-1     proposing a constitutional amendment prohibiting the state from
 1-2     requiring a woman to complete a pregnancy.
 1-3           BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 1-4           SECTION 1.  Article I, Texas Constitution, is amended by
 1-5     adding Section 32 to read as follows:
 1-6           Sec. 32.  The state may not require a woman to complete a
 1-7     pregnancy.
 1-8           SECTION 2.  This proposed constitutional amendment shall be
 1-9     submitted to the voters at an election to be held on November 6,
1-10     2001.  The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against
1-11     the proposition:  "The constitutional amendment to prohibit the
1-12     state from requiring a woman to complete a pregnancy."
