                                 A JOINT RESOLUTION
 1-1     proposing a constitutional amendment allowing a county to
 1-2     construct, maintain, or improve in the county any street, road, or
 1-3     highway of a city, town, or village.
 1-4           BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 1-5           SECTION 1. Section 52, Article III, Texas Constitution, is
 1-6     amended by adding Subsection (f) to read as follows:
 1-7           (f)  A county may use any available funds, including funds
 1-8     derived from bonds or other debt authorized by this section, to
 1-9     construct, maintain, or improve in the county any street, road, or
1-10     highway of a city, town, or village.
1-11           SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be
1-12     submitted to the voters at an election to be held on November 6,
1-13     2001.  The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against
1-14     the proposition: "The constitutional amendment to allow the use of
1-15     county funds to construct, maintain, or improve in the county any
1-16     street, road, or highway of a city, town, or village."
