By Homer H.J.R. No. 110 A JOINT RESOLUTION 1-1 proposing a constitutional amendment to enhance agricultural 1-2 production of grapes and promote tourism in Texas by granting the 1-3 right to sell and taste wine in a winery. 1-4 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 1-5 SECTION 1. Section 20, Article XVI, Texas Constitution, is 1-6 amended by adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: 1-7 (d) The holder of a winery permit may sell and serve 1-8 Texas-made wine, or dispense free Texas-made wine, for consumption 1-9 on the winery premises, regardless of whether the winery is located 1-10 in an area in which a local restriction or prohibition on the 1-11 possession or sale of intoxicating liquors applies. 1-12 SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be 1-13 submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 6, 2001. 1-14 The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the 1-15 proposition: "The constitutional amendment to enhance agricultural 1-16 production of grapes and promote tourism by granting the right to 1-17 sell and serve Texas wine on a winery premises."
