                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The Donna High School Choir won a national
 1-2     championship in Orlando, Florida, on March 18, 2000, and we join
 1-3     the school's administration, faculty, and student body in honoring
 1-4     this fine achievement; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, The choir's 13 students proved themselves to be
 1-6     models of perseverance and dedication as they practiced intensely
 1-7     for months and worked hard to raise funds for the trip to Florida;
 1-8     and
 1-9           WHEREAS, The smallest group performing and the only one
1-10     without a pianist, the Donna choir sang its three selections,
1-11     "Celebrate This Day," "Messe Basse," and "Regina Ceoli," and
1-12     prevailed over 14 other schools from across the nation; and
1-13           WHEREAS, By capturing a national title, the members of the
1-14     Donna High School Choir brought great honor to their school, the
1-15     Rio Grande Valley, and the entire Lone Star State; now, therefore,
1-16     be it
1-17           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-18     Legislature hereby honor the Donna High School Choir on winning a
1-19     national championship and extend to its members sincere best wishes
1-20     for continued success and happiness; and, be it further
1-21           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
1-22     prepared for the Donna High School Choir as an expression of high
1-23     regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
